How to open Etabs in latest version :. Here are the steps to open : 1.  Open the older version file in its version. 2.  In the file menu --> Export  option, save the file as .sdk text file 3.  Open the sdk file in note pad. 4.  Change the text as ""ETABS 2015" instead of ETABS and also change the version in program information  as below : 5. save the file 6.  Then open the latest version  7.  In the file menu --> Import option, open the sdk file Of course there gives some errors. Ignore the errors and finally the file opens. Now Save the file and work on it  in the latest version
